Hawley Gives “Alien: Earth,” “Far Cry” Series Updates
“Alien: Earth” showrunner Noah Hawley recently sat down with Deadline and offered an update on how a second season of that series, along with his proposed TV series based on the “Far Cry” video game franchise, are progressing.
Hawley will team with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star/producer Rob Mac (aka. Rob McElhenney) for the “Far Cry” series, which will be an anthology with each season telling a different story. Mac will also star in the first season.
Hawley says that “Far Cry” will begin filming later this year after the second run of “Alien: Earth” begins production. He specifies that ‘hard prep’ on “Far Cry” will begin just as the “Alien” series starts shooting,
Both runs of episodes are being shot at Pinewood Studios in London, with a secondary location serving both productions.
Hawley intends to direct only the first two episodes of “Far Cry” and has co-showrunners helping steer the series. He confirms that for a window there, he will be running two shows at once.
He adds, “We have most of Alien written, and we’re halfway through the other show. Once we have the scripts, it’s less my job and more someone else’s.” He confirms he’s “not specifically adapting any of the games that they’ve put out”.
